What qualifies us to be a great pony party company?
My name is Stacey Young and I founded "Pony Parties" in 1990. I am a horse trainer and riding instructor. I have the experience to determine which ponies are uniquely qualified to be great Party Ponies. I am also a Mom with two adorable boys, Nicholas 5 yrs old and Nathan who is 2 yrs old. I adore kids and know what your looking for.
Who comes to my party?
Along with Stacey and Bruce, we have some great party hosts. Julie and Tracey are people we are proud to call our friends. They are Mom's and animal lovers as well and are dedicated as we are to making sure your event will be as memorable as ever.

Where are you located? How far will you travel?
We are located in the Tri-Valley Area. We travel far and wide to bring our ponies to as many people as possible. If you don't see your city or town on our price list, please don't hesitate to ask us for a quote. We often travel around the entire Bay Area, from San Jose to Palo Alto to Marin and the entire East Bay. We are now expanding and will come to your party in the Central Valley if you desire!
How is cost of the party determined?
While our prices are very competitive with other companies, we'll be less than some and a little more than others. Our prices are based on location of the party and travel time from our ranch.Even though we are usually at your party for an hour, there are many hours of prep time involved so that you can have "The Best Party in Town!" Remember, you get what you pay for. If you would like our services and find a cheaper company, please feel free to call, in most cases we will beat our competitors prices.
I have a dog, will that be a problem?
Our ponies and petting zoo critters are used to dogs and other animals. Your animals most likely are not used to our ponies in their environment though. So that your pets will remain happy and not stressed, you may want to put them somewhere they feel safe.
How do I decide how many ponies I need?
While we can accommodate a large number of children with one pony in an hour, 15 is a good number of kids to think about adding a second pony. You can always add a face painter or a petting zoo to keep the kids busy!
Who enjoys the face painting?
Our removable tattoo face painting is a hit with both the kids of all age and the adults! The images are kid friendly and easily removed with soap and water. half of the fun is pick out what you want!!
Are the petting zoo animals friendly?
Yes! All of our animals have been hand raised. Many of them have worked with us for years. They enjoy being held and loved and pet.
Is my deposit refundable?
Because you are choosing "The Best Party in Town!", we often book up several months in advance. In order to keep a schedule every one will like, and to ensure everyone gets the time slots they want, the following will apply to ALL parties:
We require a 48 hour cancellation due to bad weather.
All cancelations within 48 hours, prior to the scheduled time of the party, due to bad weather, will incure a $50.00 scheduling fee.
If you need to cancel for any other reason, we will apply your deposit to a rescheduled date and time of your choice. If you cannot find another time, the deposit is NOT refundable.
What happens if we have bad weather on the day of my event?
This is the way I make my living. No party, No paycheck. I also know that there are very excited kids anticipating our arrival. While we cannot control the weather, we make every effort to be there, even in bad weather. We can always substitute the Petting Zoo for ponies and set it up in a garage.
How long does it take to set up? Is it included in my hour?
The ponies are ready to go when we arrive. Depending on how far we have to carry zoo animals, is how long it takes to set up. Your party starts when the first ride starts or the first animal is being cuddled and loved. If we are late due to traffic or other uncontrollable reasons, you will still get an entire hour of entertainment.
I don't have a back yard, how much space do you need?
Our ponies and/or petting zoo can work anywhere. A front yard, sidewalk, court, parking lot, or side yard, They have traveled far and wide. Up stairs in San Francisco to the beach near Marin. We don't need much space to make your child's dream come true!
When should I reserve the party?
As soon as you have decided on a day and time, you should let us know. We will write you down in our schedule. We will require you send a deposit along with our reservation form to confirm that date and time. Remember, we're "The Best Part in Town" we tend to fill up quickly, but that doesn't mean we don't have a special spot for you.
Will I get a confirmation?
Once we receive your paperwork in the mail, we will notify you. We usually do not confirm parties by phone. We will send a fax . email you or confirmation in the mail.
Are you insured?
We do carry insurance. We plan to never use it and we are very safety conscious. Our insurance, like most others, do not allow us to have seat belts on saddles, but we will wrap a friendly arm around a young or worried rider. We also encourage parents to participate if they like! For safety, we only allow one rider at a time.
Do you only do birthday parties?
While the majority of our business is private parties, we would love for you to consider us for school events, anniversaries, business promotions, grand openings, holiday events, and fund raisers. We have set up for crowds from as small as 50 to as events and fairs with more than 90,000 attending people. No matter how small or large we can make any event special!
Do you take pictures?
We are in the process of setting up the availability of taking High Quality Professional pictures, like you may have seen taken at schools, amusement parks, shopping malls and the like. We will be excited to offer this service in the near future!! They will be keepsakes for many years to come!
Is my child to young for pony parties or petting zoos?
We have given parties for kids from 1 year old to 12 and beyond!
What is the Pony and Cart option?
We also have "driving ponies". They wear a harness and are hitched to a cart. Both children and adults can ride in the cart along with our pony handler. A great alternative to riding a pony. A great adult pony party!!
